Asbestos covering is found on high and low voltage electrical cables. It can look like a fibrous bandage wrapped around cable and may contain bitumen.

Rope and packing containing asbestos was used in vehicles, plant and machinery for insulation or heat resistance. Be asbestos aware.

English Electric fuse holders are black and smooth with a hard, polished surface stamped with an ‘EE’. They are the only English Electric fuse holder containing non-friable asbestos. 

Panels that contain asbestos were usually long, thin timber boards. They were used as weatherboard to clad houses. The boards overlapped horizontally.

Reyrolle fuses are tan or brown with a compressed particle or Bakelite casing, and copper or silver ends. They are roughly 65mm wide and 250mm long.
